This image of a huge gator has gone viral over the last few days and I’ve seen at least one reference to it as a “Florida dinosaur”. It does look rather prehistoric.
At first, I thought it was fake – I mean, look at the size of that monster! But apparently it’s real. Since this beast was spotted not too far away from where I live, I’m tempted to confirm it’s real with my own two eyes. But I think a better plan is to stay as far away from it as possible.

It is! The only other gator I’ve seen close to that size was one in captivity where it basically just ate all the time. I don’t wanna know what this thing has been eating in the wild to get that big.
